A research/consulting center: As the summer teaching is becoming more scarce and the research grants are diminishing, we need to create our incoming sources. We have talked about the center idea for years, but I think the environment might be right to get the idea off the ground now. I will pitch this idea at the next board meeting. Hope we can garner some supports from the board. They can at least help us make the connections. However, we need have some concrete ideas about what we want to do with the center. Please give your thoughts. We will have a meeting a week before the board meeting to synthesize the ideas. In the meantime, please bounce your suggestions off the email.
